We are now accepting applications for a full-time (40 hrs/week) Data Analyst!
The Health Equity Research Lab/Center for Multicultural Mental Health Research is a health services research center connected to the Department of Psychiatry and made up of an interdisciplinary group of researchers and clinicians dedicated to conducting research to improve physical and mental health in diverse communities. The Data Analyst supports the Director and Principal Investigators in methodological and statistical matters. This position will be involved in innovative research on health services disparities at a research center with several large NIH-funded studies. The role of the Data Analyst is to support the Director and Principal Investigators in methodological and statistical matters in order to improve physical and mental health in diverse communities. -Performing data analyses, data cleaning, and data management, and implementing and learning new statistical methods as necessary for the successful completion of research projects.
-Analyzing psychometric properties of scales.
-Providing input on experimental designs for clinical and service interventions.
-Working with large psychiatric epidemiological data sets.
-Mentoring trainees in statistical methods and research design; supervising data analysts.
-Participating in the interpretation and writing of analyses for papers and progress reports advising in the development of new proposals.
-Supervising and overseeing statistical and econometric analyses.
-Participating in the training of Center staff in methodological matters.
Masters in economics, statistics, biostatistics, quantitative psychology, or related fields preferred, with interest in health services research, excellent communication skills, and ability to function well as a member of a team. Preference for applicants familiar with SAS and/or Stata necessary; additional experience with Git or other version control/management services, SQL, R and/or Python a plus. Ability to organize and complete time sensitive tasks and ability to work well with all levels of Lab personnel. Experience with claims, electronic health records, NLP or machine learning also a plus.
