Description:

The RA position is to assist with the organization and coordination of multiple research projects and to provide administrative support to investigators as well as the project managers. The HERLab integrates expertise from an interdisciplinary group of researchers and clinicians dedicated to conducting research to improve physical and mental health in diverse communities. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Participates in and supports the planning, development, and implementation of ongoing research projects as programmed by the researchers and principal investigator(s);

  • Assists in grant writing and grant submissions working in collaboration with the PI and other researchers;

  • Assists in manuscript preparation and submission to journals;

  • Assists in providing administrative support to the research team by scheduling meetings and setting up conference calls;

  • Works closely with the operations manager as support for hiring and orienting new researchers, volunteers or summer students;

  • Manage summer interns and volunteers;

  • When required, help with the recruitment, interviews and follow up of research subjects. In addition, coordinate with community partners and other research team members;

  • Collect pertinent and updated literature for different projects and publications;

  • Development and corresponding tracking of IRB documentation;

  • Assist in graphic, tables and other presentation of research data;

  • Review, analyze, and synthesize existing literature and translate results of the literature review into ‘everyday’ language for mass audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study;

  • Organizing and completing time sensitive tasks;

  • Willingness and ability to work in a busy environment with shifting and competing priorities;

  • Ability to work well with all levels of Lab personnel.
